These Tandoori Grilled Chicken are so moist and tasty. They are marinated in yogurt and spices. Three years back, My son brought a couple of his friends to our home and I prepared this dish as a starter! They all loved the dish and they couldn’t stop with just eating one piece! From that day I started cooking this amazing dish and it’s very easy to cook as well! So I thought I would share it with you all!

Tandoori Grilled Chicken

Tandoor chicken is a chicken dish prepared by roasting chicken marinated in yogurt and spices in a Tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven. But now it is prepared easily in the electric grill oven. This tandoori grilled chicken is very popular in the Northen parts of India. In restaurants, they served this tandoori chicken with mint chutney along with lime and onion wedges. You can also serve this dish with naan or any pulao. Tandoori grilled chicken is spicy but not hot. Your kids also love this dish very much.

Furthermore, I would like to share some of my suggestions for making perfect tandoori grilled chicken. Firstly, this chicken is best marinated overnight but if you are in a time crunch,  a few hours will do just fine. If you want your tandoori grilled chicken to be the deep red shade you find at Indian restaurants, then add few drops of red food color in the 2nd marination bowl. But in this recipe I did not use the food color instead, I used chili oil while cooking. One more thing, because of health consciousness, I removed the chicken skin but If you want you can cook with skin.

You can also use the store-bought readymade tandoori masala. But I never recommend this masala. Because all the ingredients that I have used will be present in most Indian kitchen. So try this homemade masala. Furthermore, I didn’t use any food color and butter. Finally, adjust the grilling time based on your oven. So keep an eye on your chicken all the time because it might get charred if you overcooked it!
