Vegetable Puff can be served as a snack during tea time. It tastes awesome with some spicy vegetarian masala with crunchy cashews in each and every bite. Its amazing with some chai tea in the evening! So try this out and share your comments!

Vegetable Puff

Furthermore, I would like to share some tips for making a perfect vegetable puff. Firstly, thaw the pastry sheets to room temperature and then cut the thawed sheet into 6-inch rectangle size. Then place 2 tbsp stuffing at one side or center and fold the other side and lightly press the edges of each puff. Then brush the edges with water.

Arrange the pastries with enough space on the baking sheet. Brush the top of the pastry with some milk or lightly beaten egg.
Finally,  place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake it for about 20 to 25 mins or until they turn into golden brown in color.

  1. 6 puff pastries, thawed          For Stuffing
  2. 1 cup boiled, peeled and mashed potato
  3. 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  4. 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
  5. 2 tbsp finely chopped french beans
  6. 1/4 cup green peas, frozen
  7. 1/4 cup chopped cashew nuts
  8. 1 tsp red chili powder
  9. 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  11. 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  12. dash of chat masala (optional)
  13. 1/2 tbsp oil
  14. salt to taste
  15. 1 lightly beaten egg or milk          Instructions
  16. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C. Then thaw the pastry sheets to room temperature.
  17. Heat a pan with enough oil over medium heat.
  18. When the oil heats add chopped cashews, fry until they turn into golden brown in color, remove from the pan and then chop roughly.
  19. In the same pan, add chopped onions, saute until it turns translucent.
  20. Add chopped carrots, beans and peas, saute until they become little soft.
  21. Then add mashed potato, mix well for 30 seconds.
  22. Then add all the powders and salt, mix well and cook for 2 mins.
  23. Finally, add the chopped cashews, give a quick stir. Remove from the heat and let it cool for some time.          For Puff
