Shrimp Tacos with Mango Salsa
These shrimp tacos are spicy and so delicious. They are served with sweet and tangy mango salsa. Furthermore, I would like to give some suggestions. Firstly, in this recipe, I used fresh ripe mangoes because they are the most flavorful. But you can also use canned or frozen mangoes if the fresh mangoes are not readily available in the market. While preparing this mango salsa, try to use fleshy mangoes like Alphonso and others because they don’t have the threads found in other varieties that can stick between your teeth. Furthermore, they are sweet, and they also add bright color to your salsa.
Another important thing is that try to marinate shrimp for just 30 mins or overnight, but obviously the longer you marinate the shrimp, the more flavorful it will be. Then, don’t overcook the shrimps because if you cook them for more than 5 mins then the shrimps become rubbery. So try to cook it in a heavy bottomed pan over high heat because heat will cook the shrimp fast and also keep them moist and juicy. You can also cook it in a cast-iron skillet because it retains the heat. Cooking in cast -iron skillet also good for your health.
Finally, you can also add avocado salsa instead of mango salsa to this shrimp tacos. Just mix 1/4 cup sour cream with 2 tsp lime juice and some finely chopped coriander leaves in a small bowl. Then place this sour cream mixture on top because this sour cream helps to balance the heat and it also adds a delicious flavor. So try this version and share your comments!
